I am a recent Engineering graduate of the University of Cambridge, having spent four years there and specialised in Electrical and Control Engineering (BA/MEng).

These days I work for a startup in Denmark as the lead electrical and control systems engineer!

  6. Hi Philip,
    Great YouTube videos! Very educational. I just started to get back at electronics after a 30 year break. A lot has changed, in a good way. I am learning a lot of new things and I discover new possibilities every day. At this moment I am working on a project related to avionics in small aircraft. However, I think I am going out of depth here trying to connect the dots (sensors, displays etc).
    Would you be interested in joining the project or simply offer advise?

    Hope you are well in these somewhat COVID challenging times? I’ll add my voice here to all the thanks for the YouTube tutorials 🙂

    As I said with my comment to your tutorial: “KiCad STM32 Hardware Design and JLCPCB Assembly” this was invaluable in helping me get right through the process of design, to holding a JLCPCB in my hands. A small wish would be for JLCPCB to add more ‘standard’ components in their line up, something that I imagine will happen with time once the World gets past COVID.

    Other then saying “thanks”, the reason for this reach-out is to ask if you have any experience with relatively high power MOSFET design? My project is to (slowly) build a VESC ESC. The VESC forums often show trials and tribulations due to output ringing etc through less-than optimal MOSFET/Driver layout. Obviously issues I would rather avoid! Any thoughts or experience you could share would be very appreciated.

    Saw you PID video, very informative, we tried implementing integral windup by it. But somehow our PV(process variable) crosses SV(set_point) to high value, then return back. Reason we observed Integral_sum gets accumulated, takes long time to fall back actually.
    Can you help I can share entire code with you.

    Hong Kong fans with CS background.
    I really like your video. I want to know more about electronic knowledge after watching your video. May I get your advice on choosing PCB developing tools?
    Fusion 360, EasyEDA, and KiCAD which is better for a newbie?

  12. Great stuff. I matriculated in Natural Sciences in 1967 so it is interesting to see what’s going on now. The videos on KiCad are especially welcome.
